In this letter, we’ll share:

  • New Tools we’ve created with love & unicorns 🦄

  • Life Updates

    • Saigon has become less exciting

    • A new kind of fulfillment

New Year New Tools 🩵

This project has been disrupted by multiple trips but we finally got our life together and made it happen!

As Airbnb hosts chasing freedom, we couldn’t find tools that worked for us—so we made our own. 🧙‍♂️

Introducing: TOOLS WE MADE WITH LOVE 💝 (& unicorns 🦄)

Here’s a peek at the magic we’ve conjured so far:

  • Airbnb Profit Analyzer 🧮

Formula we’ve used over years of scouting properties. It’s conservative, so numbers usually beat estimates.

Angie also bases her quarterly bookkeeping on the inventory list.

There’s no bad investment, only bad math. 🤌

  • 5★ Rating Guide

A one-pager (.pdf & .png) to teach guests Airbnb’s 5-star standards. No more “Everything was perfect, 4 stars!” moments! 🙃

  • The 🐘 in the room 😶

Our Check-in Guide isn’t launched yet… whoops. 😅 We decided to prioritize this tool page. So grab early-bird discounts while we finish it up.

    What’s Check-in Guide?

Tired of guests ignoring your check-in instructions? Our step-by-step guide ensures they get it right.

We’re constantly cooking up new magic, so bookmark this page and check back often. 🪄

Life Updates

Saigon Has Become Less Exciting

We’ve spent around 6 months in Saigon over the past two years.

  • First visit? Pure adventure—everything felt exotic and new.
  • Third visit? The chaos became cozy.

We found our groove:

  • 🌞 mornings of meditation, Pilates for Angie, gym for Tyler
  • 🍵 then cute coffee shops for work
  • 🍽️ dinner with Angie’s parents—our daily OKR (at least one meal together)
  • 🌆 evenings and weekends? Playing tourists
  • ✈️ Saigon also doubles as our travel hub

Tyler’s getting the hang of the city, improving his Vietnamese, and feeling more at home. He loves the chaos but still clings to Angie’s hand when crossing the streets.

We’ve also been catching up with SO many friends, which has filled our hearts to the brim. 💞

Saigon isn’t an exciting destination anymore; it’s become a comforting, loving home. 😌

We Lost Our Drive

You might’ve noticed—no newsletters for three weeks! Three weeks!! Unheard of for us. We never missed one, even during traveling.

So, what happened?

  • Life + Travel: We were soaking up Saigon and left our laptops behind for trips to Taiwan and Singapore. 🤭

  • Chill Vibes: Saigon may be chaotic, but it’s also super chill.

Life has been at ease, and with contentment comes less desire. When there’s nothing pressing to achieve, our drive naturally takes a backseat.

So wealth building and financial freedom haven’t been top of mind 🫥—we’ve just been savoring the simplicity of daily life here.

And we had to make an effort to remind ourselves 🔔: the reason we can live like this is because we’ve been consistent and responsible with our finances.

But losing our drive is actually good news. 🥰

We’re not here to build a legacy, expand businesses, or chase riches—we’re here to be free. So ease is one of our BIGGEST goals. 🎯

And with that in mind, we’re heading into 2025 with fresh resolutions:

  • 2024: (Tyler) Rebalance & build healthy lifestyle + (Angie) Focus on passion projects to generate income
  • 2025: (Both) Same as 2024, but add passion projects that are purely for joy 💞 + More hobbies

We did the classic tourist thing in Jiufen, Taiwan—wrote our wishes for 2025 on a lantern and sent it off into the sky. It was actually way nicer than expected. Guess there’s just something about putting good vibes out there. ✨

A New Kind of Fulfillment

We recently took Angie’s parents to Singapore 🇸🇬.

They’ve been so frugal for years, rarely traveling and prioritizing Angie and her sister, to the point that we thought they were just homebodies. But seeing them enjoy traveling lit up our hearts. 🥹♥️

For Angie, it wasn’t just the usual travel fun—it was a deep, fulfilling joy. ✨ Gratitude overflowed, and it all felt so rewarding.

Building wealth is just a means to an end—and that end is the ability to care for ourselves and others, no matter how small the gesture.

With Angie’s dad retiring soon, we’re hoping they’ll travel more. 🙏

SIDE NOTE

We’re hunting for a 5🌟 dog sitter in Saigon. Angie’s dad needs someone trustworthy for his precious princesses whenever he’s away. 😅 Suggestions welcome. 🫶

The Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay was SO impressive. 😳 We visited the Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica back in July, and it’s fascinating to compare the natural wonder to this man-made masterpiece. 🤔

Hope it's helpful for your journey to Freedom 🙏

Love you to freedom and back, 🫰

Things We are Loving Right Now ❤️‍🔥

🏋️‍♀️ Welness

  • 🚂 Level up white noise: Having trouble falling asleep at night? Check out this train background noise—it’s been Tyler’s go-to lullaby for years! He’s even become a train enthusiast 😂 because he now associates trains with pure, peaceful relaxation.

🧳 Travel

  • 🥄 Titanium Spork: The ultimate travel utensil. Angie tragically lost hers on the flight to Taiwan 🥲 She left it in a half-finished box of sticky rice and never went back for it—so the spork vanished along with the box. Truly heartbreaking, 💔 we know.
